FINAL REFLECTION

Throughout my time in Design Principles, I have loved making various artworks and receiving feedback that has helped me better my talents. This class has taught me about the complexities of design and how we find our way via many methods and styles. Each artwork I've done has helped me develop my decision-making and planning processes, which will benefit me in the future. Wherever I confront a problem in my work, such as a given concept or difficulty, I find solutions to address those challenges and create a design that is visually beautiful while still conveying a strong message in a subtle and simple manner. The most difficult aspect of Design Principles for me was making artwork that accurately represented who I am as a person. I was unable to make an artwork that satisfied me because I believed that every concept I had did not truly reflect myself, but as I continued to develop my artwork, I was able to discover more about myself and create an artwork that satisfied me. I had loved designing for our first exercises since I was only needed to create artwork for a design concept, which meant I had nearly total creative freedom over what I was generating. Due to the fact that it was merely a concept and not a specific topic, I had a lot more first thoughts and interpretations. Self Portrait has encouraged me to focus on myself as a whole, how I interpret life and how I feel myself as a person; I used what I learnt to my artwork. What I gained from the module is how I now approach my assignments; I have developed discipline for myself to prepare for assessments because it is a constant assessment. As can be seen, I have also created a well-developed work that has been finished using all that I have learnt in this Design Principles subject. I could have improved my artworks by planning them more completely; even though I have grown my planning abilities, I had a lot of difficulties focusing on a single concept since I had a lot of ideas every time I produced a design; there is still a lot more I can improve on when preparing for a design. I could also enhance my time management abilities so that when I have a feedback session, I have more work to share. Design principles has taught in the development of consistency in decision-making and the resolution of difficult issues by demonstrating workarounds.
